Accredited Echocardiogram Services
In 2016, Our Echocardiography laboratory at Lawrence Location has successfully been accredited by Corhealth Ontario, a support system to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care that is dedicated to improving quality in the delivery of adult cardiac services in Ontario. We are proud to have met the challenge of accreditation, and intend to consistently uphold the principles of quality improvement and cardiac care in the future.
This is an important milestone in the continuing growth and success of our health care organization. We would like to thank our administrators, medical staff, cardiologists, medical & technical director for their tremendous help during this process. We also especially thank our referring physicians for the continuous support. This gives reassurance and confidence to our referring doctors and patients that we have excellent images, dedicated professionals, and a well-equipped facility to provide quality patient care that demonstrates our commitment and passion.

He completed his Cardiac Electrophysiology training at St. Michael’s Hospital of the University of Toronto. He has been in full-time cardiology practice.
He is currently the Medical Director of the Arrhythmia Services at Rouge Valley Health System. As an arrhythmia and cardiac devices (pacemakers and defibrillators) specialist he manages patients with palpitations, arrhythmias, syncope and sudden cardiac death syndromes. Many young and older patients with significant personal and family histories of these symptoms can be rapidly risk stratified for benign versus malignant conditions and receive appropriate and timely care in their community. Those requiring interventions can be provided access to these with reasonable wait times for their care. His clinical interests are also in all patients with general cardiac symptoms for primary prevention to tertiary interventions.
Dr. Karim Merali Murji is a family physician, with Fellowship in Echocardiography. His major interests include diagnosing and reating asthma, caring for the elderly and using echocardiography
to evaluate cardiac structure, function and hemodynamics.

Dr. Zia specializes in all diseases of the heart, but has a particular interest in coronary artery disease, interventional cardiology and cardiac imaging. He completed a Cardiology and Internal Medicine
Residency at the University of Toronto, and went on to do an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Subsequently, he did an Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship (Level 3 training) in both Cardiac MRI and CT at Columbia University in New York. He is also certified in Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography.
Dr. Zia is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto and an Affiliate Scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute. His primary research interest is delineating myocardial tissue injury using cardiac MRI post-acute myocardial infarction.
